- Rule 6603 (1): the court may give leave for a subpoena to be served later than 5 days before the compliance date, on affidavit.
- An addressee need not comply unless the subpoena is served on or before the stated last date for service (r 6606 (2)). Rule 6482 imposes a different and longer rule for special witnesses: at least 6 weeks before the hearing date. Because the period is 5 days or less, r 6350 (2) excludes days the registry is closed.
