Calculation basis and source
- Period
- 28 days
- Trigger
- perfection of the order appealed against
- Counting
- The encoded calculator method must be independently documented before publication.
- Rollovers and holidays
- Holiday, closure and order treatment must be independently documented before publication.
This route remains in preparation until a pinpoint official source is recorded.
- The court may enlarge time under RSC O.122 r7, even after expiry; enlargement is discretionary and is not computed.
- Time runs from perfection (signing and sealing by the registrar), not the date of judgment. Rule 13(1) is subject to any contrary statutory period for the particular category of appeal. The former expedited-appeals procedure (Part IV of Order 86A) was removed by SI No 469 of 2018, so the single 28-day period applies.
