Calculation basis and source
- Period
- 15 working-days

This route remains in preparation until a pinpoint official source is recorded.
- This is a residual default only - it applies "except where otherwise provided by these rules". Rule 197(1)(a) requires every notice to fix its own time, and rules 31, 53, 86, 92, 119 and 189 override it. Rule 216A(4)(b) extends it for any certified interrupted working day. Always diarise the date printed on the notice rather than computing 15 working days.
- Rule 197(1)(b) and (c) require the notice to state the consequence of failing to act and the manner and address for reply. Substituted from "business" to "working" day by the Land Registration (Amendment) Rules 2018 (S.I. 2018/70), Sch. 1 para. 6, with effect from 6 April 2018.
