Section 54(6) permits extension in the interests of justice and 'may apply more than once'; s.54(7) allows the power to be exercised even after the period has ended. CrimPR 50.32(3)(b)(ii) mirrors this. Treat as a listing target. Note the consequence of NOT extending is refusal of consent, so the burden of seeking an extension sits with the requesting side.
