  • r 3.02(1) court may extend or abridge.
  • Backward, seven days, holidays not counted. Rule 24.1 mandatory mediation applies only in the case management regions to which it is directed; confirm regional applicability before applying. Corrected on verification: the regional caveat was too vague to act on. Rule 24.1.04(1) confines Rule 24.1 to actions that were governed by the Rule immediately before 1 January 2010, actions commenced on or after 1 January 2010 in the City of Ottawa, the City of Toronto or the County of Essex, and actions transferred into one of those counties on or after 1 January 2014 unless the court orders otherwise (R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 194, r. 24.1.04(1), Ontario e-Laws, text current to 1 February 2026). Outside those three counties Rule 24.1 does not apply and this deadline must not be produced.
