- r 3.02(1) court may extend or abridge; r 51.04 permits withdrawal of an admission with leave of the court or the consent of the parties.
- HIGH CONSEQUENCE. Under r 51.03(2), failure to serve a response in time means the party 'shall be deemed, for the purposes of the proceeding only, to admit the truth of the facts or the authenticity of the documents mentioned in the request to admit'. Under r 51.03(3) a party is also deemed to admit unless the response contains a specific denial or a reason for refusing to admit.
