- Service of the appellant's factum starts the respondent's 30-day factum period under r 27(1). Corrected on verification: the entry carried no computation warning although this is a sub-seven-day period. The Court of Appeal Rules, Man Reg 555/88 R, contain no computation-of-time provision and no definition of "holiday" (confirmed by full-text search of the current consolidation), so King's Bench r 3.01(b) does NOT apply and all five days are counted, Saturdays included. Only the expiry day is rescued, by The Interpretation Act, CCSM c I80, s 24(1) or s 24(2). The engine must not apply its global short-period holiday exclusion here.
