  • Forward count: r 47 excludes the order date. Rule 48 excludes 23 December to 7 January because the step is amendment of a pleading. Rule 51 rolls a closed last day to the next open day. Under r 427(5), unexercised leave ceases to have effect when the period expires unless extended.
