  • Rule 383(2)(b) permits a further period agreed by the parties or allowed by the Court or a judge before the stated case-readiness event. Only the 14-day default is computed.
  • This duty arises only after pleadings between the parties are deemed closed and is subject to rr 383(3)-(6). Forward count: r 47 excludes the day of receipt. Rule 48 does not apply because discovery is not a pleading. Intervening weekends and holidays count, and r 51 rolls a closed last day to the next open day.
