- Queensland has no separate defence deadline for an ordinary claim: the defence must be attached to the notice of intention to defend, so it is governed by the r 137(1) 28-day period. The exception is a conditional notice of intention to defend, to which r 139(1)(b) does not apply (r 144(3)).
