When is the deadline for qcat application to review a reviewable decision?
The catalogue records a 28 days period from The 'relevant day' as defined in s 33(4): the day the applicant is notified of the decision, or (where a statement of reasons has been sought under s 158 or an order made under s 159) the earlier of the day the statement is given and the day by which it was required to be given. This draft page remains free only until its source, worked example and limits are reviewed.

- QCAT Act s 61(1)(a): the tribunal may by order extend a time limit fixed for the start of a proceeding by the Act or an enabling Act, and may do so even after the time has passed (s 61(2)); but not if to do so would cause prejudice or detriment, not able to be remedied by an appropriate order for costs or damages, to a party or potential party (s 61(3)).
- The trigger is defined, not obvious: s 33(4) sets three alternative 'relevant days' turning on whether written reasons were sought. Under s 6(7) an enabling Act that is an Act may provide a different period, which prevails; always check the enabling Act.
