- Chapter 18 pt 3 governs appeals to a court other than the Court of Appeal. r 783 requires the notice to be filed with the registrar of the District Court, with a copy filed as soon as practicable in the Magistrates Court registry from which the appeal is brought. The 28-day period is not restated in pt 3; it is picked up from pt 1 by r 785(1), so both rules must be cited.
