- The Court may extend validity from time to time for not more than one year at any one time from the day the warrant would otherwise expire (r 68.05(2)), on an application that may be made without notice (r 68.05(4)).
- Hard stop: "An order under subrule (2) shall not be made after the day of expiry of the warrant" (r 68.05(3)). Unlike the writ renewal power in r 5.12(3), this extension power cannot be exercised after expiry.
